Broker's Comments

Built at Hakes Marine in New Zealand and launched in 2007 as Ecover 3. Innovative appendage configurations, including the fitting of an interceptor system resulted in hull drag reduction of up to 16%. The construction of the yacht features the latest in titanium ram design, Kevlar honeycomb pre-preg carbon construction and the highest specification of hardware and equipment. Ecover 3 was 5th in the 2007 TJV. In 2008/2009 Vendee Globe, Mike Golding raced with the front pack and lead until they were dismasted south of Australia. The yacht’s first Trans-Atlantic podium finish was a 3rd place in the 2009 Transat Jacques. In 2010, work undertaken included fitting tiller steering, a new cockpit and coachroof. In the 2012/2013 Vendee Globe she was 6th.

The yacht can be purchased in two formats; IMOCA certified ready to race boat only, or as a complete racing package including container, spares and negotiable forms of on-going race support if requested
