About Joff Brown
I started working with Boatshed Performance in 2018.
What did you do before working with Boatshed?
My background is in the build and technical management of shorthanded racing yachts.
Having grown up on the East Coast, spending weekends cruising and racing with the family, at 18 I decided on a career in sailing. I went to Southampton Institute to study Yacht Manufacturing Management and whilst there, built a useful network of contacts I regularly call upon and became fully involved in the Solent racing scene, whilst scraping antifoul off powerboats to earn some pennies.
Upon leaving, I fitted out the mouldings ofa 32ft cruising catamaran for my dad which he has to this day, now moored in France. I was then introduced to Mike Golding by a friend which was the start of 18 years work to date, spent largely in the IMOCA class. I’ve managed boats for five successful round the world races and project managed the build of three new IMOCAs.
What attracted you to become part of the Boatshed team?
I’m very excited to be working with the Boatshed team and having been involved in a number of performance yacht sales, I know that having some specialist knowledge of these yachts, offers a great support to both the buyer and seller
Are you a motorboater or a sailor?
Sailor!
What is your most memorable boating experience?
I just love anything to do with boats!
